Q: Where do you offer doula support?
A: I’m thrilled to offer doula support to families in Salem, Silverton, Corvallis, and the surrounding areas. Whether you're planning a hospital birth, a birth center experience, or a home birth (with a licensed midwife), I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Q: Can you work with my medical team?
A: Absolutely! I’m welcomed in all local hospitals and love collaborating with your medical team to ensure your birth experience aligns with your wishes. My role is to offer comfort, advocate for your preferences, and help create a birth space where you feel empowered and supported.
Q: Where should I give birth?
A: I believe you should give birth in the place that feels most comfortable and supportive to you! Whether that’s a hospital, birth center, or home birth, I’m here to help make your experience smooth and positive. It's all about what makes you feel safe, informed, and cared for.
Q: Why is doula support important?
A: Great question! Doula support can make a big difference during labor and birth. Research shows that continuous support from a doula can lead to shorter labors, fewer interventions, and greater satisfaction with the birth experience.
A study published in the Journal of Perinatal Education found that women with a doula were less likely to need pain medication and more likely to have a spontaneous vaginal birth (Source: Journal of Perinatal Education, 2013).
But it's not just about physical support. I’m here to provide emotional reassurance, offer comfort measures, and help create a calm and supportive environment, no matter where you choose to give birth.
Q: What if I’m not sure where I want to give birth?
A: That’s completely okay! I’m here to help you explore your options and guide you through the process of making an informed decision. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable with your choice. I’ll support you no matter where your birth takes place!
Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: Yes, I proudly accept insurance! I accept OHP Pacific Source Community Solutions, OEBB & PEBB Kaiser Permanente, OEBB & PEBB Moda, and YCCO. If you have questions about insurance coverage or need help with the process, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to assist!
Q: How can a doula help with my birth?
A: As your doula, my goal is to provide continuous support, whether that’s physical, emotional, or informational (or all three). From soothing comfort measures to helping you communicate your wishes to your birth team, I’m here to ensure you feel confident, supported, and cared for throughout your birth journey.
No matter where or how you choose to give birth, I believe doula support is valuable. Let’s work together to make sure your birth experience is everything you hope for!
