Meet Stephanie: Your Doula in Salem, Oregon

I’m Stephanie, a birth and postpartum doula and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) serving Salem, Oregon and the surrounding areas. My work is all about supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and those wild, beautiful postpartum days — with evidence-based care, a calm presence, and maybe a little humor along the way.

My Story

Before I became a doula, I spent 11 years as a public school educator. Teaching taught me a lot about patience, listening, and how every person learns and grows differently — lessons that translate perfectly into birth work.

When I had my own two kids (a daughter and a son), both pregnancies were high-risk and anything but simple. Those experiences changed me. I learned just how unpredictable birth can be — and how deeply families need steady, compassionate support--no matter what unfolds.

Now, I’m here to offer that same support to others. I love celebrating when everything goes smoothly, and I know how to hold space when it doesn’t.

My Doula Philosophy

I’m a bit of an information collecting nerd — the kind who happily dives into new research, training, and discussions about all things pregnancy and birth. My approach is grounded in evidence-based information and unwavering support.

Whether you’re planning a hospital birth, home birth, or still figuring things out, my goal is to help you feel confident, informed, and cared for. I support your choices and provide resources so you can make decisions that truly feel right for you.

A Peek Into My Everyday Life

When I’m not working with families, you’ll probably find me with my hands in the dirt or a book in my lap. I love to garden (though I'm more of a hopeful whimsical gardener), and my windowsills are forever filled with plants I’m rooting (there’s always five or six cuttings in a mason jar somewhere).

I’m also a huge reader — give me a cozy blanket, a yummy beverage to sip on, and a romance or fantasy novel, and I’m in my happy place.

At home, I share life with my amazing husband and two kids, two cats, and Oogi, our giant, lovable Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix.
