I know how tough back pain during pregnancy can be – it’s really uncomfortable!

The good news is, there are some simple things you can try to ease the pain. Here are a few tips that you might consider adding in to your current regiment.

  1. Get comfy with good posture: As your belly grows, it’s easy to slouch, but try to keep your shoulders back and pelvis slightly tucked. It’ll make a huge difference in how your back feels!

  2. Stretch it out: Gentle stretches like cat-cow and pelvic tilts can help ease tension. Prenatal yoga is great, too, if you're up for it!

  3. Take a warm bath with Epsom salts: Seriously, this one’s a game-changer. The magnesium in the salts helps relax muscles, and the warm water feels amazing on your back.

  4. Jump in the pool: If you have access to one, floating in the water is one of the best ways to reduce pressure on your back and hips. It's like instant relief!

  5. Use heat or ice: Heat can help relax tight muscles, and ice can reduce inflammation if you're feeling sore. Just use whichever one feels better for you in the moment.

  6. Try an inversion table (with your provider’s OK): This one sounds a little wild, but it can be great for relieving pressure on your spine. Just make sure to check with your provider first!

  7. Support your belly: A maternity support belt can really help take some of the pressure off your lower back and pelvis. It’s like a little hug for your belly!

  8. Rest and relax: I know it’s tough, but sometimes the best thing you can do is take a break. Put your feet up, relax, and give your body a chance to recharge.

And if all else fails, reach out to your provider to make sure everything is on track. If you’re in a lot of pain or something feels off, it’s always good to check in with them.

You’ve got this! And if you need any more tips or just want to vent, a doula is always a great option to add to your support team. ❤️
